My name is Bernie Charland. I'm a seasoned leader with 25+ years of experience in communications in my native Canada and the United States. I've worked in progressively senior positions in a variety of settings - including agency, corporate, trade association, politics and government. My experience spans a number of disciplines but for the past 12 years or so I've specialized in employee communications and change management, with the last 6 years immersed in social media strategy and execution. Prior to starting this firm I was vice president of Internal Communications for Iron Mountain, the global leader in information management services based in Boston. Previous to that I managed the Global Internal Communication function at Dell Inc. and also led strategic planning for the award-winning Conversations & Communities (social media) team. During my agency days - during which I helped create Insidedge, a successful firm within IPG specializing in employee communications - I had the opportunity to work with a variety of leading organizations including Ford, Deutsche Bank, Boeing, Coors, Visa and Sprint.
